Randy Sisk, MS, LAC, CADAC

Primary Therapist

Randy Sisk brings to Sober Way a long history of Recovery as well as a rich and
varied history of experience in the Counseling profession.

Born in New Jersey, growing up in Kentucky, residing in Houston Texas for a decade and now having lived the last 23 years in Arizona, he managed to begin a life of sobriety in January of 1989.

His professional journey began in a small treatment center in Houston working as what was then known as a “tech.” From there, employment at The Recovery Source also in Houston led to the leap from Texas to Arizona to work at The Meadows in Wickenburg Arizona as an Evening Counselor. Relocating up the hill from Wickenburg to Prescott was in order to accept a part time position with Prescott House and to make a ambitious career change into private practice. Fortunate to have been certified by Dr. Patrick Carnes, having studied under Pia Mellody, Tian Dayton, John Bradshaw Claudia Black and a number of very talented therapists along the way. In addition to substance abuse counseling, he has been trained in sex addiction, Co-Dependency counseling, the ways of Gestalt Therapy and Psycho-drama. In 2007 the Government of Yavapai County offered a position of Adult Probation Officer. It was a career move too intriguing and enticing to refuse. Often referred to as a “counselor with a badge,” six years were spent in this profession before the message became clear to return to his true profession. Never that far from counseling, and with 20 years of experience circumstances prevailed and Sober Way Home offered Randy the position of primary therapist.

Having attended a number of colleges across the country, Randy’s Undergraduate degree is in Liberal Arts from Prescott College, and the Graduate Degree from Grand Canyon University is in Behavioral Science with a focus in Addiction Counseling. Married for 23 years a self-proclaimed sports nut, especially with Kentucky basketball, his hobbies include being a bit of a gym rat, reading, painting pottery, fishing, hiking, time with the dog, and as much spent with his wife Dee as possible.
